Artist's Bio

Jennie Baxter is a self-taught glass artist. Born in Fall River, Massachusetts in 1980, she is the youngest of of her parents four daughters. Her father's career in the US Navy required frequent relocation and gave Jennie the opportunity to live on the east and west coasts, New England, down south, Europe and the Middle East. Jennie's well traveled childhood insprired her to persue degrees in International Studies and French at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. A course in scientific glassworking was the spark that ignited Jennie's passion for glass and eventually led to a career as a glass artist. Jennie currently lives in southwestern Virginia with her herd of pets. She enjoys teaching workshops and spending time in her studio expressing ideas and emotions through her art.
